Following the precedent set by the Joint Symposium of the ISMR and the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics (AAMP) in Kauai in 2000, the ISMR and the Japanese Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics (JAMP) are working together to host the Fifth International Congress at the beautiful Bankoku Shinryokan Conference Center and the Busena Terrace Beach Resort, located on Okinawa Island, Japan.

Recognized leaders, renown for contributions in their field, will present keynote lectures, providing a fundamental foundation to the Scientific Program. Short Oral and Poster Presentations will supplement these plenary sessions and enable a global contribution to the program.

Speech, deglutition, and normal appearing facial forms are all basic human needs. By sharing knowledge, the quality of life will improve for those patients with congenital anomalies, developmental disorders, acquired ablative defects, and trauma to the craniofacial and/or maxillofacial regions. As a result, those attending this joint symposium can make a lasting  contribution to society.

This combined meeting will provide a unique opportunity to connect with our colleagues in the Orient. The ISMR and JAMP welcomes your participation. Okinawa will most assuredly provide a spectacular environment to relax, learn, and experience an exchange of old and new friendships among colleagues who all share a common interest Maxillofacial Rehabilitation.
